Vieques, Puerto Rico Destination Wedding | Part Five – Reception | Ian and Jen
All photographs by Lansing wedding photographer Heather K. Please do not edit or download without permission.
Some of the below photographs were taken by my fabulous assistant/second shooter, Stephanie.
Dress: Bella Sposa Bridal
Wedding Planner: Sandy Malone | Wedding in Vieques
Getting Ready Location: Casa Piedra Grande
Ceremony Location: Sun Beach
Reception Location: Next Course
After Party Location: Lazy Jacks
After leaving the beach ceremony, Ian and Jen decided to take a moment together to catch thier breath. We stopped at Lazy Jacks again for a fortifying drink. (for them, not for me, haha)
Ian and Jen were ready to head for the reception. Into the car we went!
Meanwhile, family and friends were soaking up the scenery at Next course resturant, where the reception was to be held…
Cheering and tears met the happy couple as they went into thier first dance as husband and wife!
Jen’s dance with her dad was incredibly emotional. Her mother latter revealed to me that the song they danced to was choosen from Jen’s childhood. When Jen wouldn’t be able to sleep as a baby, it was that song that her dad would dance her to sleep with. To share such a meaningful song with your father on your wedding day… it’s an incredible moment that I’m so happy Jen got to experience.
Leigh was completely radient during her dance with Ian…
Next course was such a gorgeous venue! The details were perfect and the staff was friendly and professional. It was great!!
Ian and Jen had a custom guestbook made from thier engagement photographs. A big hit as usual!
Dinner was about to be served, so the group settled in to talk and laugh.
I couldn’t helo myself… I had to photograph the food before I could even eat it- so beautiful!!
As best man (and little brother), Alex delivered his wonderful speech. But that was just the first round… one by one, loved ones of Ian and Jen stood up to show thier love…
And finally, Ian and Jen stood to thank thier family and friends.
Instead of a cake, Ian and Jen had opted for a gorgeous display of desserts!
When the cupcake had been cut, it was time to hit the dance floor again- this time for some crazier tunes…
I don’t know what this dance below is… but… I love it! XD
As the night wound down, the songs slowed and I got the oppertunity to capture more love in the air…
The reception finally shut down, but the night wasn’t over yet! Back at Lazy Jacks, the afterparty kept us rolling a little longer.
At last, the night was complete, and Ian and Jen slipped away- married at last!
