I am so happy to show off the photographs of this wonderful couple as they made their vows. The laughter between them, the love in the way they look at each other… it makes me proud to be a wedding photographer and it restores my faith in humanity. LOVE FTW! I’m privileged to help you join in on their wedding day.
…The excitement was palatable as the groom and groomsman set up the chairs for the ceremony.
As the guests settled in, the van with the bride and maids pulled up.
We waited with baited breath (especially Ian!) As the final gorgeous woman stepped down over the sandy hill.
And as he finally saw his bride to (soon) be, he was overcome…
Jen joined Ian, and the ceremony began…
Ian and Jen had decided to include a symbolic “Foot washing” in their ceremony. This practice, taken from the Bible, signifies the desire to humbly put others ahead of yourself. (in the original Biblical reference, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. In that time, it was considered a part of hospitality to have guest’s feet washed when they arrive at your home, since sandals and old dusty roads = dirty feet- but it was usually considered a ‘lowly’ job for a slave. By washing the feet of his disciples, Jesus demonstrated that love and humility should take the place of ego) It has beautiful significance for a marriage, where respect and love are the lifeblood of happiness.
Kaylei gave a beautiful reading during the ceremony..
At last, it was time for vows and rings.
Ian and Jen made their way up the sandy beach, celebrating!! Finally married!!
Family and friends gathered around Ian and Jen to congratulate them. Hugs aplenty!
