Ian and Jen – Lansing, Michigan Engagement Photographs

Remember Alex H’s graduation photographs? When Leigh, his mom, told me that her older son, Ian, was engaged and planning a Puerto Rico wedding, I was immediately curious (and… well…hopeful. Lol). As it turns out, Ian and his lovely fiancé Jen love my work and ended up hiring me to shoot their PR wedding and home reception! I am so incredibly stoked for this opportunity- and I was even more excited after getting to shoot their engagement photographs!
It’s so great to spend time with a couple before the wedding day, learning about their personalities and getting to know their quirks. As I was hoping, Ian and Jen are kind, funny, so incredibly cute, and have this awesome ‘rock-star vibe’ that emanates from them like a resounding chord from the likes of Journey or Pink Floyd. Seriously.
Anyway…
Their session was epic- too epic to fit into one blog post. (That’s what you get for being gorgeous, foks!) Since we split their session into two days so we could fit in a special secret location, I’m splitting the blog preview also! so much energy and fun in this session. i especially love the shots in front of the wall with the car-tire thingies, but all of the locations are awesome. totally seem to fit the style of this gorgeous couple. great job.

I’m loving that shot of Ian & Jen “meeting halfway” over the tracks! Did they kiss first then work on their legwork or stand on the track and bump lips?
Thanks! It took a lot of tries to get it right, actually. XD They stood on the rails, linked hands, then slooooowly leaned in so they wouldn’t fall. They did great, I was impressed!
