Annette and Tyler? What can I say- they fit together like a hand and glove.. like a photographer and coffee… like WHITE and GREEN!! I adore the story of how they met, and I was thrilled that we got to incorporate it into their photographs. (More on that below!)

Since both Tyler and Annette are MSU grads, we had a blast wandering around Michigan State University for their engagement session! We started out poking around the gorgeous old buildings on campus:

Although it’s a bustling place, I love that MSU works so hard to maintain a quiet campus with lots of imput from nature. A couple can get some alone time in some gorgeous places..

You can not be a self-respecting spartan fan without a visit to the Spartan Stadium…

…or a stop to see the original Sparty!

The fall leaves are gorgeous anywhere you go in Michigan! Annette and Tyler got a little cuddly in the golden leaves..

As we wandered, we inevitably found our way to a book store on campus and decided to have a little fun inside.

Finally, it was time for the most epic part of the session.

Annette and Tyler met over a sweater. A gray wool sweater. Oh, it’s a classic story: mutual friends, a local hangout, and a chilly night. A gallant guy sees a shivering lady and- well, whats a man to do? He lent it to her, of course! After collecting convenient collateral to ensure they would meet up again, they parted ways, happy to have an excuse to see each other another day.

One date turned into several- and the rest, as they say, is history. Although the sweater has undergone an unfortunate (well… some would say “convenient”, no matter how much denied lol) shrinking, it remains the best way to sum up the turning point in two people’s lives.

We set out to memorialize that night at the bar where they met that Thursday night: The Riv in MSU.

Inside, we ordered burgers and I slipped into another booth to give Tyler and Annette some space for cuddling and photographs. (the burger, btw, was AMAZING)

But when all is said and done, I thought that a stop motion set would tell the story the very best. Boy + Girl x Sweater = happy ever after!
